Sweet Six!

My dear baby girl Nana, today you turn six!

You are growing to be more and more independent this year, you started to finally sleeping in your own room, having your own space and enjoying your own private time. You can do everything by yourself from brushing your teeth, showering, cleaning after yourself after pee pee, poo poo, choosing your favourite dress and dress up on your own, tidying your own bed and your room, log in to computer for your online class and occasionally during weekends, you will prepare our simple breakfast while daddy mummy laze on the bed for awhile more. You love writing small notes, letter or drawing and often time put it on our table to ‘surprise’ us.

You know exactly what you want and if sometimes me or your daddy do something not according to your plan/taste/mood, then we are done. You will correct us and making sure we will follow your way to do it. Sometimes I feel like you are my mother more than I do.

You are still very loud and talkative. You can talk non stop in every situation, while doing homework, while doing exercise, while cooking, while cleaning up. I realise that, the more you grow the more you talk.

To my big girl, I can’t believe time passes so quickly, you suddenly grow so much and everyday keep reasoning with us. Even though it’s our 6 years on, motherhood doesn’t gets any easier, I truly understand that it’s a lifelong lesson. Let’s grow and learn together.

Happy Sweet Six Years Old our baby Nana.

Daddy Mummy love you always and forever. ❤

Love,

Your mummy ❤

1, 2, 3! Who turns 3?

My dear baby Nana,

Today you turns 3!

1233 years ago you came into our lives and touched our hearts. You are overly active, strong-willed, talkative and very mischevious. By the age of 3, you still fancy bus over soft cuddly toys. Your favorite food is eggs, all kind of noodles, ice cream, cheese and chocolate cakes. As much as I wish you grow bigger and taller, there are times I wish you are still a tiny baby that stick with me all the time. You talk so much now that sometimes I wish you are still a baby where you only giggle and laugh when I talked to you. You run so fast now that sometimes I am out of breath chasing after you. I want you to know that no matter how big you are, you are and always will be my baby.

On a good day, you will ‘request’ to help up (or mess up) with some household chores now. You helped up to hang the clothes, to mop the floor, to wash your own bowl after snack, to help washing the vegetables, to help baking cakes or cookies, to help to throw rubbish into the dustbin, and many other small little things in daily life when we asked you to do. Even if most of the time I will still need to clean up after you, but I want to let you know that mummy is proud of you.

I’m very grateful to be your main caretaker as I can be there to witness all your growth. Sometimes you are smart, sometimes you are cute, you like to sing when you are doing something; creating your very own lyrics, you like to dance and dance and dance and dance, you are a social butterfly that never seems to go out of energy. People always notice you when you are around, coz you are either very noisy talking about everything in a very sharp loud voice, or you are crying out loud over a small matter. Though sometimes I do feel embarrassed, I will keep reminding myself that it’s alright to be as loud as you want to be for now. Just go ahead and be what a 3-year-old should be.

By the time you turn two, you start testing my limit every single day. Sometimes you make me so mad that my fire is burning. But behind all the hurricane, occasionally you will tell me “I love you very much” and kiss me on my cheek. Some days soon you will not kiss me as often or hug me or even ask me to play with you; but no matter what happens, I’m always there for you like I did in the past 3 years.

You are my weakness and my strength. I love you with all my heart.

Wailoon + Peipei & Baby Woo

Hey man, time flies! My dear old time school mate is expecting her first baby! Pat and I staying at the same garden during our school days and we went to school together everyday. Fast forward 20 years plus, she’s now married and is mother-to-be. I’m very grateful to be able to capture her casual pre-wedding few years back (check out the digital series here and analogue series here) and I’m happy be to able to have a simple maternity shots with them at the park before their little one came into this world. This whole series is taken in less than an hour (an express one, haha!) and I hope both of them enjoyed the photographs as much as I enjoy shooting them.

Alex + Eva (The Pre-Wedding)

So, in conjunction of our one year anniversary, here comes our pre-wedding pictures! HAHA!

My thoughts one year ago.

So, finally it’s my turn! Haha! Before the pictures speaks for themselves, I would like to just briefly explain what’s the story behind how I ended up being someone else’s wife.

The feeling of getting married was once scared me off. I always wonder, will I ever manage to find the perfect one. I search for awhile, experience some downfalls, gets up and move on. And by the time I stop searching, I met Alex.

We both attended a photography sharing seminar many years back and our “fate” starts there. It’s not an immediate click or “love at first sight” haha, but happens later after sometime.

Both Alex and I were born in different personalities, we experience different childhood, we grow up to be someone with totally different character. He’s a logical thinking person while I often go with my emotion. In our relationship, he’s the mature one, while I’m the playful one. I guess, that’s what they said, “Opposites attracts.”

Alex isn’t consider as someone who’s super caring, maybe because he’s busy with work or he isn’t sensitive enough but he never failed to take care and support me during my toughest time. He encourage me to grow and take really good care of me when I’m sick or when I’m in need.

Looking back, the first few months of being together was in fact the most challenging for us. We argue almost every single week. We are getting used to the “freedom” we once have, and we did not understand each other just well yet. Heart wrenching, feeling to give up and heart broken. We give us chances, and we try to be a better person for one another. I’m glad we did, as these chances leads us to where we are now, 2 and half years later, we are now husband and wife!

Speaking of our pre-wedding shots, we had a simple photo shoots. Nothing much fancy, just wanted to have some images taken before we gets married. I’ve been imagining how would my pre-wedding shots getting done, but sometimes, nothing will came according to plan! Haha. Now that the real deal is here, I just want something simple. 🙂

The whole series separate into 3 different venue, in 2 days. We had our first photo shoot all by ourselves, by using the camera timer. We had lots of fun. Haha! We portraying nobody but ourselves, nothing fancy, no props, no heavily make up and no special costume. Just a slightly matching shirt for him and dress for me with a birthday flower bouquet specially DIY by Alex as my birthday gift. I guess, that’s good enough. And it’s definitely meaningful enough for us as well. I had the same series taken with film, using my faithful LC-A with the shutter release, but unfortunately many of the shots turns out to be out-of-focus.

The second shots taken at UPM, where I get my bachelor degree from. With the green grass and the infamous UPM tree standing tall, we kinda pose a little (HAHAHA) and get some couple-posing-shots done. I’m wearing a polka dots dress, but unfortunately the dots is too small and it’s did not shown in the picture, but anyways, I had “great experience” posing in front of the camera. Haha!

The third shots we had at the same day, we move to our ROM venue. Both of us really like this place and hence we plan to do a photo shot there as for remembrance. Anyways, here comes the images! If you think it’s takes too long to load for all the images, do check out the slideshow in vimeo which I had embed it below for the summary instead. 🙂

My thoughts one year after getting married.

So, after being someone else’s wife for one whole year, nothing much change. The biggest changes is that we became Nana’s parents. And to be able to build a family together, is indeed the most “romantic” stuff that we could possibly ask for. Happy Anniversary!

Our SDE and highlights of our ROM available here. Enjoysss!

Love,

Eva Eva.

Darling Wong

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls.

Let me introduce you, my family latest addiction of the happy human being a.k.a the king of the family – Darling Wong Mun Lok. Yes, “Darling” is his english name as per created by his beloved mom – my sister – Lemoon Lai. Haha, no, just kidding. But we called him either “Darling” or “Lok Lok” or “Wong Mun Lok” or sometimes I will call him “Fan Shu” (sweet potato) hahaha, because he looks innocent all the time. My nephew is now at his 16 months old and growing tall, strong, big eater and naughty at the same time. He loves to smile and he’s really cheeky sometimes.

Darling Wong Mun Lok

Here I can sum up a 15 facts of this little potato boy as a yiyi (aunt) perspective:

1) He speak cantonese and english. “nggg moi” is his first spoken cantonese word which means “Don’t want” & “No”. He often “nggg moi” by turning his head left and right together with his hand. Haha, darn cute. And he know how to speak “ba”, “mummm mumm”, “ball” & “there” while pointing to the place he wanted to go as well. And he mumbles all the time. I bet he will be very talkative when he grows up.

2) His favourite toy is a soccer ball & balloons. He enjoy kicking the ball, and kissing balloons all the time. Other than this, he loves playing with car car and sometimes music instruments like piano, guitar and drum. I guess he might be growing up to be either an athlete or a musician. 😀

3) He loves eating. He eats all the time! He’s skinny, but he has very huge tummy. Whenever we eat, he will run towards and wanna have a bite. Or two, or until your plate is empty. Small kid, huge appetite.

4) He enjoys clapping hand. And he always invite everybody to do it together. Haha!

5) He had one smelly pillow where he can’t take his hand off that pillow and he enjoy biting it rigorously.

6) He enjoys listening to “Gangnam Style” by PSY.

7) He’s grumpy like his mom and naughty like his dad.

8) He’s pretty generous as he will feed us with his snacks when we asked for it.

9) He kissed each and everyone of us on the cheek when we request him to “kiss kiss”. Awwwwwwwwwwwwww.

10) His favourite pastime is dancing and singing. He move his hand, and shake his head and body when he listen to music and he “sing” when we pass him the mic!

11) He nod when he wants something or when he mean “yes”.

12) He have almost a complete set of teeth now 😀

13) He put his toy-phone or our smartphone under his neck nearby his ear and say “arrrlowww”.

14) He enjoys companion. He’s happy when there’s visitor visiting him and unwilling to sleep when he know there’s visitors around. Oh and he say “ooi” (his version of hi) with one hand raised to everyone he saw, the security guards, his neighbour and the laundry aunty too! 😀

15) He enjoys stealing people’s smartphone and sometimes accidentally invite the contact of the phone for some Facetime session. He once called sis’s boss for that. Haha, laugh die me. And he knows how to unlock your phone. Don’t play play.

I guess I can keep this list running really long. Maybe I will updated this again few months later when he grew bigger, when he learned more words. He’s less grumpy now and very friendly. He brought tremendous joy to our Wong-Lai (Pineapple!!!?hahaha) family! And in a blink of an eye, he’s so big now. 🙂
