Sweet Six!

My dear baby girl Nana, today you turn six!

You are growing to be more and more independent this year, you started to finally sleeping in your own room, having your own space and enjoying your own private time. You can do everything by yourself from brushing your teeth, showering, cleaning after yourself after pee pee, poo poo, choosing your favourite dress and dress up on your own, tidying your own bed and your room, log in to computer for your online class and occasionally during weekends, you will prepare our simple breakfast while daddy mummy laze on the bed for awhile more. You love writing small notes, letter or drawing and often time put it on our table to ‘surprise’ us.

You know exactly what you want and if sometimes me or your daddy do something not according to your plan/taste/mood, then we are done. You will correct us and making sure we will follow your way to do it. Sometimes I feel like you are my mother more than I do.

You are still very loud and talkative. You can talk non stop in every situation, while doing homework, while doing exercise, while cooking, while cleaning up. I realise that, the more you grow the more you talk.

To my big girl, I can’t believe time passes so quickly, you suddenly grow so much and everyday keep reasoning with us. Even though it’s our 6 years on, motherhood doesn’t gets any easier, I truly understand that it’s a lifelong lesson. Let’s grow and learn together.

Happy Sweet Six Years Old our baby Nana.

Daddy Mummy love you always and forever. ❤

Love,

Your mummy ❤

High Five!

My baby girl, today you turn FIVE.

In a blink of an eye, you become such a big girl now. You are wayyyy more talkative than ever before. You are the same sensitive and sensible child. You always reasoning with us, asking why, answering why, explaining your own excuses, basically, you talked like a grown up. You are great in maths. You enjoy doing some mathematics questions with your daddy. You starts to even control daddy’s and mummy’s financial. Opening our wallet, counting how much money do we have and what we can afford to buy you as your birthday present.

You become soooo feminine now, wearing dresses all day everyday. And out of so many dresses you have, you only wear that particular two dresses ONLY. And if I browse back all the images I taken for you, most of them you are wearing either one. And this yellow polka dot dress is one of them. You like to keep your hair long, always ask me to help you braid your “let it go” hair. Sometimes you even pretending to do your “make up” before leaving the house. While being so feminine and all, you still enjoy playing with all your buses, cars and other vehicles.

You are daddy’s little rainbow and mummy’s little joker.

There are days when you woke up feeling grumpy, shouting, crying and scolding everyone over small matters. But there are days when you woke up feeling happy all the time and being a truly happy and helpful child at home.

This year, while the whole world is experiencing the pandemic and during the 3 month lockdown of our country, the 3 of us stuck at home all day everyday 24/7, sometimes It’s difficult to all of us, but I do think that it’s very grateful to be able to stay healthy and to stuck at home, together, where some people out there in this world do not have that luxury to do so. During this period, we do all sort of things together, we plant our own beansprout, try out all sort of new recipes together, baked lots of cakes, made pizza together, you have your first online class and I have the time of my life teaching you mandarin..Hahaha! it’s indeed gonna be beautiful memories in the years ahead.

Today, you turn five.

You been counting down to this day ever since January. And because of the social distancing SOP, we can’t have a party for you at school with your friends, and we can’t go to your favourite park or playground to have some fun, but daddy and mummy promise will bring you to have a nice gateway after all these ends. Let’s have fun by then.

Baby girl, even though Mummy being very firm to you sometimes, but I want you to know that Mummy love you with all my heart. ❤

Stay happy and grow big!

Daddy Mummy Love You ❤

Happy 5th Birthday to you.

Love,

Mummy mummy mummy

My dear baby Nana, today you turn 4!

Watching you grow from day one since you was a tiny newborn baby until now, you had now grown into a sensible little girl.

This year, you’re finally start schooling. You learn to socialise among your peers, learn to share, and to tolerance among each other. You learn new languages at school, craft, follow the rules and have fun with children same age as you. You became more and more independent. At home, you can do most of the things by yourself. If you are not tall enough to reach, you get a stool. You basically trying to solve your own problem before asking for help. Slowly, but surely.

Sometimes you are smart enough to even helped me up with my housework. When I bake, you pass me the mixer and spatula. When I make fruit juice, you pass me your plastic straw cup. When I accidentally wet the kitchen floor, you pass me my mop, without anyone to remind you or asked you for help. When me and daddy was away for two weeks, you even teach your popo (grandma) how to make your favourite Mac and cheese! Haha!

Even though most of the time you are still making a mess, but your offer on helping up is priceless to me. And the fact that you being more independent now makes me feel that you are no longer a baby.

They play, laugh, fight, cry and grow up together.

But no matter how much you grow, you will always be my baby.

Being your mother is still the hardest task I ever done but I wouldn’t trade in the world for you. Four years now but we are still learning and growing together. 💪🏻 I can’t buy you the world but I will promise to provide you a beautiful childhood so you have something to reminisce when you grow older. And no matter what happen, we will have each other to lean on.

1, 2, 3! Who turns 3?

My dear baby Nana,

Today you turns 3!

1233 years ago you came into our lives and touched our hearts. You are overly active, strong-willed, talkative and very mischevious. By the age of 3, you still fancy bus over soft cuddly toys. Your favorite food is eggs, all kind of noodles, ice cream, cheese and chocolate cakes. As much as I wish you grow bigger and taller, there are times I wish you are still a tiny baby that stick with me all the time. You talk so much now that sometimes I wish you are still a baby where you only giggle and laugh when I talked to you. You run so fast now that sometimes I am out of breath chasing after you. I want you to know that no matter how big you are, you are and always will be my baby.

On a good day, you will ‘request’ to help up (or mess up) with some household chores now. You helped up to hang the clothes, to mop the floor, to wash your own bowl after snack, to help washing the vegetables, to help baking cakes or cookies, to help to throw rubbish into the dustbin, and many other small little things in daily life when we asked you to do. Even if most of the time I will still need to clean up after you, but I want to let you know that mummy is proud of you.

I’m very grateful to be your main caretaker as I can be there to witness all your growth. Sometimes you are smart, sometimes you are cute, you like to sing when you are doing something; creating your very own lyrics, you like to dance and dance and dance and dance, you are a social butterfly that never seems to go out of energy. People always notice you when you are around, coz you are either very noisy talking about everything in a very sharp loud voice, or you are crying out loud over a small matter. Though sometimes I do feel embarrassed, I will keep reminding myself that it’s alright to be as loud as you want to be for now. Just go ahead and be what a 3-year-old should be.

By the time you turn two, you start testing my limit every single day. Sometimes you make me so mad that my fire is burning. But behind all the hurricane, occasionally you will tell me “I love you very much” and kiss me on my cheek. Some days soon you will not kiss me as often or hug me or even ask me to play with you; but no matter what happens, I’m always there for you like I did in the past 3 years.

You are my weakness and my strength. I love you with all my heart.

You made me a mother

26 June 2015.

My dear Nana, you made me a mother.

It’s been the most stressful,  intense, challenging but absolutely wonderful year. The days are slow, but the years are fast. In a blink of an eye, from a tiny little newborn baby to this cheeky little girl. I can’t believe how you have grown from day 1!

The very first moment when I saw you, I remember I said: “oh my god, oh my god”. I held you in my arms, you were laying on my chest. You covered with some fluids which make you look a bit greyish, and you are very fragile. You did not cry it out loud by the moment you are here, you look calm which not the same case when you were grown because you cried hysterically most of the time. Hahahahahaa.

3G1C98453G1C9869

I have to admit it is not love at first sight. It’s strange. It’s not how I imagine it would be. You seem like a stranger to be, but yet you are somebody very close to me. It’s strange. Life was so hard, it’s getting really tough. I’m new to everything; breastfeeding, taking care a baby, changing diapers, bathed a newborn, all my hormones runs up and downs. Even all the baby products overwhelmed me. There are days where I broke down, I feel that I wasn’t ready being a mother.

Days by days were gone, the strange feeling getting lesser and lesser and I started to cope with my life with you. Every day I hope I could provide you the best I can. Never in my life that someone ever made me feeling so. But for you, I’m willing to do so. And they said, you will finally understand how does it feel to be a mother when you are a mother yourself. When you are gifted with a baby, you are gifted with a super power as well. There’s nothing you can’t do for your kids. Even with all the stress and difficulties, as well as all the midnight pumping and nursing, I choose to continue to provide you mother’s milk no matter how difficult it is. I hope it’s nutritious enough to build you stronger. It’s not an easy journey, but I make it through for a year already now and might still continue on. I’ll let you wean it off on your own automatically when the time comes.

My dear, you have no idea how many sleepless nights both me and your father went through after you were born. We were frustrated, feeling fatigue, very tired at work but all these feeling was gone, when we came home after a long day at work and play with you. You grow up to be very cheeky. You enjoy people’s companion. You likes to play with elder kids/babies and enjoy laughing and smile all the time. It’s so priceless to us, no matter how tired we are, your smiles brighten up everything. You might be too young to understand how does the real world is, I hope you can continue to be as innocent and as curious as you are as a baby. And you have no idea how much joy you bring to us since the day you arrive.

Thank you for being part of our life. You change my life, you make me discover an inner part of myself that I have no idea it actually exists. You made my life so meaningful. And most importantly, you made me a mother.
